Bucks County Book Festival is back for its sixth year

Posted

On Friday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m., the Bucks County Book Festival will welcome Julia Quinn, author of the New York Times Bestseller “Bridgerton,” as its keynote speaker at Delaware Valley University in Doylestown.

Quinn is the author of nineteen consecutive New York Times bestsellers. In March 2021, all eight “Bridgerton” novels were on the NYT list at the same time, a record for an adult fiction author.

On Dec. 25, 2020 “Bridgerton,” — a Shondaland/Netflix original series based on Quinn’s most popular series of books — made its debut to record ratings and critical acclaim. “Bridgerton” reached 82 million households in its first 28 days online and was Netflix’s #1 show in 76 countries.

Additional copies of a selection of Quinn’s novels will be available for purchase at the event. Only books purchased with event ticket or at the event will be eligible for signing by the author. For tickets and information visit https://www.bucksbookfest.org/julia-quinn.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, the festival will host the first-ever Bucks County Writers Market at The James Lorah Memorial Home in Doylestown. The Bucks County Book Festival invites local, independent, or self-published authors to participate in the first Writers Market.

This is a juried event where a select number of authors will be chosen by a panel of judges to meet readers and sell their books. This event is designed to feature local, self- or independently published authors.

Authors must be available on the day of the event and agree to stay for the duration of the event. There is no cost for authors to participate in this event. The festival is now accepting author submissions. It is proud to have The Friends of the Doylestown Library as a partner for this event. For participation information visit bucksbookfest.org.
