Bucks author and illustrator together release middle-grade fiction book

Posted

Pipersville resident Eric Hinrichs has teamed up with Doylestown artist and illustrator Pat Achilles to create a new middle grade fiction book titled “One Way Out,” currently available as an ebook with the paperback releasing Aug. 7.

It was just supposed to be school detention … until they woke up somewhere else. Danny, Phoebe, Chris, Trev and Maria walked into detention thinking things were as usual; serve their detention and go back to their usual routines. But now they’ve found themselves transported to some unknown place, with puzzles to solve and danger at every turn.

One thing they know, if they’re going to make it out alive, they’re going to have to work together. They have no choice. There’s no turning back; there is only “One Way Out.”

“One Way Out” is a fast-paced adventure story for all ages coupled with illustration throughout, that helps bring the story alive.

Hinrichs, a life-long resident of Bucks County, worked for Johnson and Johnson for over 31 years, until retiring in 2020. He serves on Tinicum Township’s Zoning Hearing Board, is a member of Bucks County’s Board of Parks and Recreation, and is volunteering at Doylestown hospital.

This is his second book. His first book, “Perceptions and Expectations, Career Advice for the Working World,” has enjoyed success.
