Bucks artist mounts solo show at gallery in Easton

Posted

Gallery On Fourth presents “Glenn Harren: Just Paint,” an exhibition of 26 oil paintings by the Bucks County artist.

The show is on view at the gallery at 401 Northampton St., Easton, through Sunday, Dec. 1, with an Open House Reception that day from noon to 5 p.m.

Working in a manner that is reminiscent of the Pennsylvania Impressionists John Singer Sargent and Edward Hopper, Harren’s style is wholly his own.

Seen up close, his canvases are an abstract collection of marks and swaths of color. From a distance, the scene, the subject, and the narrative come alive.

Harren studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, with Henry Hensche in Provincetown, Mass., and in private studios across Bucks County. He has been the subject of 15 solo exhibitions and been included in 54 group exhibitions throughout the tri-state area.

Harren also is the recipient of numerous awards, most notably from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, Woodmere Art Museum in Philadelphia and The State Museum of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg. His work is held in corporate, public, philanthropic and private collections across the country.
