Bristol Borough hosts concert on the waterfront

Posted

Bristol Borough will show its respect when it welcomes several award-winning performers to its 15th annual concert on the waterfront starting at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Mill Street parking lot (rain date Sunday, Sept. 18 at 4 p.m).

Free transportation and parking will be available for all concertgoers at the Lenox Building parking lot on the 1400 block of Radcliffe Street. Courtesy shuttle bus service will begin at 3 p.m. and run consecutively throughout the afternoon and evening until 11 p.m.

Council President Ralph DiGuiseppe made a pivotal decision to scale back the number of groups this year to make way for the acclaimed Shadows of the 60s, joined by fan favorites Bobby Wilson, Jay Siegel’s Tokens, and The Chiclettes, a female tribute group. The show kicks-off at 5 p.m. with guest DJ Vinnie Medugno, to warm up the audience.

Following performances by The Chiclettes, Jay Siegel’s Tokens, and Bobby Wilson, the Shadows of the 60s will pay tribute to the indelible legacies of Motown acts including The Supremes, The Four Tops and Temptations. The group, featuring top industry musicians and singers, is led and produced by Dave Revels, formerly with The Drifters.

Hosted by Bristol Borough Council, DJ Greg Whit will emcee the concert. Families and friends are encouraged to bring their chairs and blankets to Bristol Borough’s waterfront venue for the free concert.

Besides a variety of food trucks serving pizza, burgers, cheesesteaks and desserts, concert goers have several restaurant options serving American, Italian, Indian, Mexican, bar fare, and seafood, all within walking distance of the concert venue. Visit visitbristolborough.com/dining. It is an alcohol-free event.
