The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that bridge construction is scheduled next week on southbound U.S. 1 in Middletown and Bensalem townships.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

•Monday, March 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a right lane closure will be in place on southbound U.S. 1 between Route 413 (Bellevue Avenue) and Rockhill Drive.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area. All scheduled activities are weather dependent and subject to change.

PennDOT is reconstructing and widening U.S. 1, improving the interchanges, and constructing new bridges from the Turnpike Interchange in Bensalem Township to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 in Middletown Township under the $116 million Section RC2 contract.
