Boys soccer recap: Faith’s season ends in state semifinals

Posted

Moravian Academy defeated Faith Christian 2-1 in overtime last Wednesday night to advance to the PIAA Class A final.

Down 1-0 in the final two minutes of regulation, the Lions tied it up on a header by Colin Moyer to send the game to overtime, where their bid for a third consecutive trip to the state finals was dashed by Moravian’s Saleem Diakite, who notched the game-winner.

Faith, the District One Class A champion, finishes the year 19-4.

Moravian Academy, which beat Palisades to capture the District 11 crown, defeated District Seven’s Winchester Thurston in the PIAA state final last Friday in Mechanicsburg.
