Posted

A 9-year-old boy was pulled from a pond in New Britain Borough and rushed to Doylestown Hospital where he was pronounced dead on Monday evening.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family during this traumatic time,” read a statement from the Central Bucks Regional Police Department.

Police responded to the pond at Vaux and Hickory roads just before 6 p.m. Monday for a report of a missing boy. When officers arrived, they saw a boy’s bicycle with a fishing pole next to it.

A quick check of the area around the pond came up empty and a dive team from Point Pleasant Fire Department was called to the scene and located a young boy within a few minutes, police said.

He was pronounced dead at 7:01 p.m. at Doylestown Hospital.

Anyone with information or who saw the boy at the pond is asked to call Central Bucks Regional Police Captain Robert Milligan at 215-345-4143.
