Borscht Belt celebrates National Sandwich Month

Posted

The Borscht Belt Delicatessen in Newtown is cooking up something special for National Sandwich Month this August with the addition of The Meshuggenah, an over-sized version of the deli’s Kellerman’s Favorite.

“In celebration of national sandwich month, we wanted to do something special here at the Borscht Belt,” said chef and co-owner Nick Liberato. “We decided to double-up our Kellerman’s with extra pastrami, corned beef, turkey, Russian dressing, coleslaw, toasted seeded rye and Swiss cheese, and use the oversized masterpiece to help people in need in our community. To say that this sandwich is satisfying is an understatement.”

The nearly 10-inch high Meshuggenah, which can feed two or more hungry guests, will be available for $27 at the Borscht Belt throughout the month, with a portion of proceeds donated to Bucks County Housing Group in support of its food pantry programs.
