Benchmark Lending and Flemington Pickleball Club team up for “Love our Food Pantry” collection

Posted

Benchmark Lending and Flemington Pickleball Club will host a community food drive to benefit the Flemington Area Food Pantry in the month of February.

This is the second year the Hunterdon County businesses are hosting “Love our Food Pantry” month. They are focusing on collecting shelf-stable, nutritious protein items, although all donations are appreciated. Suggested donations include peanut butter, almond butter, nuts, canned tuna and chicken, dried beans, canned beans, and beef jerky.

“We have experienced the highest (number of) pantry visits ever since March of 2022 due to the impact of inflation. Healthy proteins are important staples for our clients, and we really appreciate the support of the community and the folks at Benchmark Lending and Flemington Pickleball Club,” explained Jeannine Gorman, executive director of the Flemington Area Food Pantry.

“We invite clients, partners, neighbors, and pickleball players to donate to the food drive. Last year we donated 640 pounds of food, and this year we want to beat that number,” said Glenn M. Davis, branch manager and Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist at Benchmark Lending.

Donations can be dropped off at Benchmark Lending, 110 Main St., Flemington, N.J., from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or at Flemington Pickleball Club, 19 Royal Road, Flemington, which is open every day, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.

Benchmark Lending is a “Club Partner” of Flemington Pickleball Club. “We love partnering with Benchmark Lending because they share our values and dedication to the community. Flemington Pickleball Club members are a special group, and they wholeheartedly supported last year’s effort and I know they will do the same this year,” remarked Maria Capone, club manager at Flemington Pickleball Club.
