Baum School of Art Fall Gala to honor Lisa and Barnet Fraenkel

Posted

The Baum School of Art is excited to come together again with a night of great food, great art, and great friends with the return of its Fall Gala, Nov. 12, honoring Lisa and Barnet Fraenkel.

The Fraenkels are known for their community involvement and dedication across the Lehigh Valley—from the Jewish community, to the philanthropic community, to the arts community. They bring compassion, expertise, generosity, and kindness to all of their community interests.

The Fraenkels are leading supporters of The Baum School of Art. Lisa is a talented artist, caring educator, lifelong student, and a dedicated member of The Baum School of Art’s board of trustees.

In addition to her weekly ceramics class, Lisa can often be found in the studio working in her “home away from home,” on her vessels, mosaics, and sculptures. Lisa’s leadership as a trustee has been instrumental to The Baum School of Art’s success—whether serving as an officer or through her efforts on various committees.

Outside of The Baum School of Art, Lisa spent her career as an art educator at the Jewish Day School and was the co-chair of the art galleries at the Jewish Community Center.

Barnet is the senior vice president of The Fraenkel-Cichocki Group at Morgan Stanley, a trustee of the Harry C. Trexler Trust, and serves on the board of several other community organizations and foundations, including the Jewish Federation of Lehigh Valley, the Jewish Community Center, and the Charles and Figa Kline Foundation.

Barnet works as an advocate through his philanthropic involvement with foundations that support the arts and culture in the Lehigh Valley.

To coincide with this special event, the school’s galleries will host “A Class Act: Works of Mentor and Mentee Renzo Faggioli and Lisa Franekel,” on now through Nov. 12. This exhibition will feature the work of ceramist and longtime Baum School instructor Renzo Faggioli, accompanied by Lisa’s own artwork. Additionally, sculptures and ceramic pieces from other longtime students, fondly nicknamed the “Clay-Mates,” will be featured at the event.

The Gala will be held at The Baum School of Art in Allentown, beginning at 6 p.m. The night will include tapas catered by Karen Hunter and a silent auction with numerous gift certificates, experiences, art work and more from around the Lehigh Valley. Dress code is cocktail attire, and tickets are $150 per person. Gold level sponsors include City Center Allentown & J.B. and Kathleen Reilly, Andrea and Fred Fraenkel, and The Fraenkel-Cichocki Group at Morgan Stanley. For information, call 610-433-0032.
