The Baum School of Art in Allentown presents a special exhibition featuring the artwork of local artist, educator and philanthropist Ronald K. De Long, through to Aug. 18.

“Wind-Shifts, Mood-Swings, and Other Anomalies” reflects De Long’s endless curiosity, creativity and dedication to exploring his own personal artistic vision, while inspiring others to stay connected to their own imagination.

De Long is the owner of Studio & Gallery 2908. He had a long career at Crayola, and taught arts education throughout the Lehigh Valley and beyond – including at The Baum School of Art. He also made a made a philanthropic gift to inspire and encourage students at Penn State Lehigh Valley, with the Ronald K. De Long Gallery.

The works in this exhibition connect stories to imagination. De Long’s past, present, and dreams for the future are represented in these works. Using his reality as a subject, he has created a body of imagery that is filled with stories about his journey. His most recent works, his “Wind-Shift” series, are making their debut in the school’s galleries.

The Baum School will host a visiting artist workshop led by De Long from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 27. He is donating the proceeds to The Baum School of Art.

Join De Long for his free artist receptions – from 6 to 8 p.m. Third Thursdays, July 21 and Aug. 18, with an Artist Talk at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 18.
