Artsbridge slates 30th anniversary celebration

Posted

Artsbridge celebrates 30 years this year with a number of events for current and new members, beginning Saturday.

Artsbridge Inc. was incorporated in May of 1993 and for 30 years has provided a vibrant organization dedicated to serving painters, photographers, sculptors, and multimedia artists who live and produce their work in the Delaware River Valley.

Its membership includes nationally recognized artists and filmmakers, art educators and emerging artists. Founders of Artsbridge included the late Ty Hodanish, Doris Brandes and Grace Croteau.

Although Artsbridge thrived for many years, the onset of COVID-19, brought new fiscal challenges. “We came together to address the ways and means to survive and came out of this terrible time in U.S. history in a better place, ready to build a stronger future,” said Artsbridge President Gary D. Fournier, now in his third term.

For many months, Artsbridge members have been planning activities to celebrate its 30th year. Activities are open to current and new Artsbridge members. To join Artsbridge, visit https://www.artsbridgeonline.com/become-a-member.

To celebrate Artsbridge’s 30th anniversary, it will host the following:

•Saturday, Sept. 23, sculptor artist Rory Mahon will present a three-hour workshop on the making of sculptural molds in his studio/workshop in Hopewell, N.J.

•Thursday, Sept. 28, Artsbridge members will have a social gathering at Chive in New Hope.

•Friday, Sept. 29, join the Artsbridge River Rats plein air group for an outdoor painting session in the Washington Crossing State Park area, in Titusville, N.J.

•Saturday, Sept. 30, the finale will be a picnic at the Green Grove Picnic Area, Washington Crossing State Park, N.J. Food, clothesline art display, group painting exercise, art raffle, and games will all be part of the fare. Live music will be by the duo Cindy Rocca Ruenes and Steve Rocca of “Dark Hollow Road.”
