Ann (Richter) Rainey of Doylestown passed away at home on Feb. 1, 2023 from cancer. She was 87 years old.

Born in Selinsgrove, Pa., to the late Frederick K. and Roberta (Clark) Richter, she graduated from Selinsgrove High School, attended the Univ. of Penn nursing program and completed the LPN program at Upper Bucks Tech. School.

Ann and her late husband, Robert W. Rainey, met at Univ. of Penn and settled near Carversville with their three children, Robert Rainey, Kim Rainey (Scott Nichols) and Sue Ann Rainey (Al Gillen). She was the loving grandmother of Jack McGavick (Sarah), Melissa Gillen (Mike Ali), Alison Gillen, Sarah Rainey (Abraham Mengen) and the late Robert Kyle Rainey; and proud great-grandmother of Paloma McGavick.

Ann worked in maternity at Doylestown Hospital for 30 years and was often recognized around town by mothers whom she cared for. After retirement, she delighted in activities with her grandchildren and kept busy with VIA, Questers, bridge, tennis, golf, water aerobics and more. She also enjoyed classical music, art museums, and travel.

A life celebration will be held March 14 at 1 p.m. at the Michener Art Museum, Putman Pavilion, 138 S. Pine St., Doylestown, michenerartmuseum.org.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VIA of Doylestown, Attn: VIA Treasurer, 595 W. State St. Doylestown, PA 18901, www.via-doylestown.org and Pennsylvania Questers, Donna Conville, 623 Race St., Perkasie, PA 18944; for the P and R Grant.
