Americans for Native Americans Garden Party fundraiser returns

Posted

The 32nd anniversary Garden Party – sponsored by Americans for Native Americans (ANA) – will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19 at the bucolic Happiness Farm in Doylestown.

The party, which won the “2023 Everything Bucks: Business or Chamber Event” award, will feature both silent and live auctions and include original signed artwork by local artists, a stay in New York City, a five-course dinner for six with wine, prepared by the culinary director of a Michelin two-starred restaurant in midtown Manhattan (served in Doylestown), tickets to the U.S. Open, and much more.

Musicians Jack Darnell and Eric Mintel will entertain guests who will dine on food provided by THE Catering Company, craft beer from Geronimo Brewing, and a signature cocktail from Hops/Scotch. Proceeds from the Garden Party are used to assist and empower Native Americans who are suffering from hunger, impoverishment, lack of access to health care, and economic distress.

This year, ANA nursing scholarship recipient Leticia “Tish” Williams will attend the Garden Party. Williams is the charge and lead nurse in the Operating Room/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit at Tsehootsooi Medical Center in Fort Defiance, N.M. She received ANA scholarship assistance while studying as an undergraduate at UNM-Gallup and for her NCLEX licensure fees. She also received ANA’s Marne Dietterich Scholarship as she pursued her BSN. Williams has also worked in the psychiatric/mental health, pediatrics, medical-surgical, and ICU departments.

Americans for Native Americans was founded in 1991 by Doylestown residents Bill and Connie Eastburn to support Native Americans in the Southwest. The local, nonprofit organization provides life-giving assistance, including food, water, clothing, health care screenings, nursing program scholarships, and veterinary clinics. Programs for children consist of the provision of food, new clothing, eyeglasses, and school supplies.

Ninety-seven percent of all money raised by ANA goes directly to ANA programs. Local supporting partners include Kohls, Gap, C&N Bank, Eiseman Construction Company, BHHS Fox and Roach Realtors, Doylestown Presbyterian Church, and Carversville United Church of Christ, among others.
