Alice J. Godown, 90, of Revere, Pa., passed away suddenly in her home on Saturday, June 10, 2023.
She was born Feb. 24, 1933 in Upper Black Eddy, Pa., and was a daughter of the late John and Hilda Fingeldie Moninghoff.
Alice was a 1951 graduate of Palisades High School. For about 20 years, she worked for Myers Frozen Foods in Plumsteadville, Pa., until her retirement. Prior to that she worked as a seamstress for the Keller Glove Factory in Plumsteadville but she considered her most important job was to be a homemaker for her four sons. Alice was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Ottsville, Pa., and of the Upper Bucks Senior Citizens. She was an avid reader and enjoyed being outside tending to her home and property. In later years, she enjoyed being on social media. She loved her Lord and prayed the rosary daily.
She will be missed by her sons, David, Dennis, Michael and Mark; grandchildren, Brandy, Nicole, Jarrett, Christopher, Alyssa and Lindsey; four great-grandchildren and her brother, Thomas Moninghoff. She was preceded in death by her husband, T. Patrick Godown and her siblings, Edward, Eugene, George and Donald Moninghoff, Margaret Schaible and Betty Ann Zimmerman.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Cemetery (old St. John’s Catholic Church), 453 Haycock Run Road, Kintnersville, Pa. Arrangements by Robert W. Snyder Funeral Home, 327 Easton Road, Riegelsville, PA 18077.
