Posted

Join the Acme Screening Room, 25 S. Union St., Lambertville, N.J., Saturday, for the Lambertville Zine Con from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., followed by a screening of “Funny Pages” at 6 p.m., with a post screening Q&A with writer and director Owen Kline.

The first Lambertville Zine Con, in support of local nonprofit Soupcon Salon, will feature over 20 artist/vendors during the afternoon. The focus is creating a place for independent creators and small press.

“Funny Pages” is a coming-of-age black comedy film written, directed and edited by Owen Kline and produced by the Safdie brothers. It premiered at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival.

Kline will be joining Acme in person for a Q&A after the film. The film tells the story of a 17-year-old cartoonist, Robert, who leaves home after the death of his mentor to forge his own path. He moves to a basement apartment in Trenton, N.J., and meets Wallace, a possibly unstable former cartoonist.

Admission to the Zine Con is free. Movie and Q&A tickets are $15, or $10 for members.
