Two killed in head-on crash

Jenna Paulaski, 21 of Ewing, N.J., and Alexander E. Wetzel, 31, of Media, Delaware County, were each pronounced dead at the scene of a head-on crash, at 3:13 a.m. Feb. 26 in Middletown Township, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Prior to the crash occurring, state police said, it is believed that Paulaski’s 2016 Ford Taurus was traveling the wrong way on Interstate 295 from at least Exit 8. The crash occurred on I-295 east in the area of mile post 5.2, Middletown Township.

At the time of the crash, Paulaski was traveling westbound in the true left, eastbound lane of travel. Wetzel was traveling eastbound in the left lane of travel. Paulaski’s car struck Wetzel’s 2016 Jeep Compass with its front end head on. Both vehicle’s came to final rest in the left lane of travel at the point of impact.

The Ford sustained heavy front end damage. Paulaski was wearing a seat belt and the driver’s side front airbag had deployed. The Jeep sustained heavy front end damage. Wetzel was wearing a seatbelt and had driver and passenger front airbags deployed.
