YMCA of Bucks County has received a $2 million Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Office of the Budget.
The RACP grant is used for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects. YMCA of Bucks County applied for the grant in early spring and received immediate bi-partisan support from state Sens. Robert Tomlinson and Steve Santarsiero.
Funds received through the grant will be utilized to complete significant capital renovations that will ensure YMCA of Bucks County branches can continue to meet the needs of children, teens, adults and seniors, of all socio-economic levels. Renovations will improve many aspects of the Y’s facilities including upgraded and accessible locker rooms, expanded wellness/fitness spaces, additional studios and classrooms, as well as community gathering spaces.
In addition to the support of Tomlinson and Santarsiero, the following Pennsylvania state representatives advocated for the Y’s grant request: Tina M. Davis, 141st District; John Galloway, 140th District; Frank Farry, 142nd District, Gene DiGirolamo, 18th District; Wendi Thomas, 178th District, Perry Warren, 31st District; Meghan Schroeder, 29th District; and Wendy Ullman, 143rd District.
