As Yardley Borough resident Pat Carver approached Pickering Manor on the warm evening of April 22 she never thought her name would be called as the big winner of a new car or $25,000.
The winner of the second‐place prize, a $1,000 Visa gift card, was Michael Giardinelli of Robbinsville, N.J.
As a fundraiser, Pickering Manor began selling car raffle tickets nearly a decade ago and has since become a fundraising tradition. This year the raffle sold close to 600 tickets and raised $25,000 for the nonprofit senior living community, the econd highest in its history of the raffle. Carvers’ winning ticket was picked at the conclusion of a pre‐drawing cocktail hour that was attended by nearly 100 hopeful ticket holders.
