Yardley Borough Council takes shape with new member Chris Campellone

Three reelected Yardley Borough Council members and one newly elected one were sworn in at the Jan. 3 reorganization meeting.
Incumbents David Bria and Matt Ross will serve four-year terms and Caroline Thompson a two-year term after being reelected in November. Newly-elected Chris Campellone will also serve a four-year term. All council members are Democrats.
Another Democrat, Michael Schummer, was elected to a four-year term in November but decided not to take the seat. The two-year term created by that decision and procedures to fill the vacancy will be discussed at the Jan. 18 meeting, Borough Manager Paula Johnson said.

Bria was picked by fellow council members to be president for another year, and Thompson will serve another year as vice president.
Republican Chris Harding was sworn in to another four-year term as mayor, and new Tax Collector Melissa Wayne also took her oath of office.
The firm of Curtin & Heefner LLP was reappointed as borough solicitor, and Remington & Vernick Engineers as borough engineer.
