Skylar Hurwitz of New Hope-based Demetrius Consulting was recognized at the World Blockchain Awards 2019 in New York City as one of the industry’s “Top 5 Outstanding Young Leaders” by the World Blockchain Forum.
The award came through on the same week that blockchain standards reports edited by Hurwitz were officially approved at the UN’s Telecommunication Standardization Advisory Group (TSAG) within the ITU.
The awards gala was held Sept. 27, at the Altman Building in Chelsea and featured a three-course meal as well as short speeches from each award winner across five different categories. One of Hurwitz’s long-time clients, Jelurida, was also in attendance to accept the award for “Top 5 Most Innovative Blockchain Technologies.”
“I sincerely appreciate recognition from the World Blockchain Forum for my work making this complicated technology into something businesses can actually begin to use and understand,” said Hurwitz. “There is still a lot of buzz around blockchain and I am proud to be leading the way toward a more level-headed and collaborative approach to adoption.”
