A 65-year-old New Hope residents died when her car went off the road in the 700 block of Route 413 Monday and struck a small retaining wall on private property, Buckingham Township police said.
Police identified the woman as Roberta Aipel. Police said they initiated life saving measures following the 12:56 p.m. crash, but were unable to revive Aipel. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses reported that a GMC Acadia, occupied by only the driver, traveled off the roadway and on to the property of 794 Durham Road, police said. It came to rest after colliding with a small retaining wall, they said.
Buckingham Police were assisted at the scene by Lingohocken Fire Company. Newtown Police assisted with traffic control around the scene. Buckingham Police Traffic Safety Officers are continuing their investigation, along with the Bucks County Coroner’s Office.
