Wine tasting to benefit Holland Library

Posted

A Hunter’s Moon Wine Tasting to benefit the Holland Township Free Public Library will be held 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9 at Villa Milagro Vineyards in New Jersey.

Attendees are invited to sample five varieties of wine grown and produced right there, along with refreshments donated by ShopRite and Costco. There will be a 50/50 raffle, as well as door prizes donated by area eateries, including Mezza Luna, Dean’s Deli and other local businesses.

Tickets cost $25 and can be purchased online at villamilagrovineyards.com/holland-library-fundraiser or at the winery, located at 33 County Road 627 (GPS address: Phillipsburg) or at the library.

Proceeds will help support the library and its many programs. The Holland Library, located at 129 Spring Mills Road (GPS address: Milford, N.J.) hosts weekly outdoor story times during the warmer months and will offer a greater focus on programming for adults (online and in-person) this autumn and winter. Established in 1964, the library is in the Hunterdon County system, but is run by the Holland Free Public Library Association.

Supervising librarian, Matheson Westlake, has helped develop many programs to engage patrons and their families, whether or not they reside in the township. She also serves as a library assistant for the Hunterdon County Library and hosts “Cats and Crooners,” a jazz and American songbook program on WDVR public radio. She has chosen the mood music for the wine-tasting event.

Villa Milagro Vineyards is located just across the Musconetcong River from Holland Township and can be reached at 908-995-2072 for questions.
