Posted

William A. Frey Jr. (Bill) left this world for a better place on Jan. 25, 2022.
He was a dedicated husband, father, Pop-Pop, brother and son. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janet. Also his son, Andrew (Jennifer) of Maine and his daughter Joanne Roth (Thomas) of Germany, along with his 7 grandchildren, Julia, Samuel, Christian, Matthew, Wendy, Jessica and Hailey. Also his younger sister Linda Webb (George).
William was born in Philadelphia in 1941 and spent the last 43 years as a Solebury, Pa., resident. Known as “Bill” to his friends and “Pop-Pop” to his family, he lived a rich, full and active life. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the Northrop Institute of Technology and his master’s in electrical engineering from Penn State University in 1970.
He successfully navigated through several careers in his lifetime. He started out as an electrical engineer but his outgoing nature led him to a sales position for a computer company where he quickly worked his way up to regional sales manager. After his first retirement from the computer industry, he worked as a mortgage broker for 10 years before “retiring” again. Finally he spent the last years of his life up to the very end continuing to serve the community by driving a school bus. It brought him great joy to interact with all of the students and they loved him. Bill was never one to sit around, he always wanted to be productive and useful and leave everything a little better than he found it.
Bill was known for his outgoing nature and he and his wife hosted a huge Fathers Day Picnic every year for 25 years, more than 100 of his family and friends would gather for a day of celebration, games and food, creating an amazing day that many still remember and cherish.
Bill was also deeply committed to the American Legion and his role as president of the American Legion Home Association Post 79, New Hope, Pa. In his 10 years of involvement in the Legion he has made many lasting connections and friendships as he did in everything he participated in. He enjoyed life up until the end, taking care of his home and gardens, traveling, visiting his son and daughter, driving his bus, and working with the American Legion. He will be missed!
Relatives and friends are invited to Bill’s Life Celebration, Wednesday, Feb. 9, from 10:30-11:30 a.m., at John F. Givnish of Buckingham (Leaver/Cable), 4886 York Road, and to participate in his funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Bill will be laid to rest at Washington Crossing National Cemetery with military honors at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Bill would ask everyone to perform a simple act of kindness for anyone in need, with the hopes that everyone can continue to pay it forward.
