Where I’m From

Posted

I am from the huge woods and the sparkling grass to the smell of the pine trees.

I am from the glistening color changing leaves, the jungle of pretty flowers and the dirty smell of mulch.

I am from skipping rocks at the creek and jumping from rock to rock.

From the raging inferno of fire to the black void of ash and watching as it blows away.

I am from the tall climbing trees or the sprouts of just the tiny plants.

I am from the eerie basement and the scary spiders, from the creepy noises to the loud leaky pipes.

From jumping the branches of trees to just laying down on them.

I’m from rolling down hills of grass and running into bushes.

From hide and seek to scaring friends in the dark, tossing pinecones in the fire pit and letting them pop.

I’m from the fun sleepovers and the spooky dark halls at night and the terrifying rooms in the house.

From the forests that we travel into the night and chilling feeling when you ego into the forest.

I’m from burying myself in the leaves and having them blow into my face.

From hiding in piles of beautiful colored leaves or just diving into them.

I’m from going into the woods with my friends and from riding down the hill with go-karts, sometimes running into something.

I’m from staying up all night in the basement and playing video games and falling asleep.

I’m from having friends guide me through the tough parts in a game and celebrating us winning.

I’m from going to the zoo and seeing amazing things.

I am from the fun moments and the sad ones.

I am from these moments remembering them each second of my life.
