WDVR radio salutes volunteers in November

Posted

In what is becoming an annual tradition, community radio station WDVR is placing a special emphasis on volunteerism during the month of November.

Programming throughout Volunteers Month at WDVR will highlight the good work volunteers do through local nonprofit organizations.

“We at WDVR are all volunteers,” explains Hilary Murray, host of WDVR’s Stepping Stones. “We feel a special responsibility to recognize others who dedicate part of their lives to serving good causes that help make our corner of the world a better place.”

During Volunteers Month, WDVR talk shows, like “Stepping Stones” and “Let’s Talk,” will feature nonprofit community organizations from the Bucks, Hunterdon, Lehigh, Mercer and Somerset regions.

Additionally, Volunteer Spotlight segments – short interviews with local volunteers sharing their stories of community involvement – will air throughout the program schedule. WDVR will also highlight these and other nonprofit groups online at wdvrvolunteers.org/volunteers.

“We make a special effort in the month of November to recognize and thank our friends and neighbors who volunteer their time and talents with local organizations that provide shelter, counsel, sustenance, education, connection and more to those in need,” said Claudine Wolk, co-host of WDVR’s “Let’s Talk.”

“And in so doing,” added Andy Kin, Wolk’s “Let’s Talk” co-host, “WDVR hopes to encourage more volunteer service throughout the region.”
