Posted

Warminster Symphony Orchestra will present Jenny Oaks Baker in an encore concert at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, titled “Heart and Soul.”
Opening the 55th season of the Warminster Symphony Orchestra, the concert in the William Tennent Auditorium, 333 Centennial Road, Warminster, features a varied program with selections such as the Brahms “Double Concerto,” Bach “Prelude,” music from “Beauty and the Beast,” and “Copland Rock Suite,” among others.
Baker is a Grammy-nominated, Billboard No. 1 artist and performer who has released 18 albums to date. She began playing the violin at age 4, and made her solo debut age 8 in 1983. She received her Master of Music Degree from Juilliard School in New York and her Bachelor’s degree in violin performance from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia.
“I am thrilled to be coming back to perform with the wonderful Warminster Symphony Orchestra,” said Baker. “There is something about Pennsylvania that sets it apart; I feel a special connection to the Philadelphia area since my days as a student at Curtis. And, to perform the Brahms “Double Concerto” for violin and cello with my daughter, Sarah, is a dream come true. Additionally, my son Matthew, 14, will be playing the third movement of the classical guitar concerto No. 1 by Castelnuovo - Tedesco.” Sarah is 16.

“The Warminster Symphony Orchestra is overjoyed that Jenny Oaks Baker will once again grace our stage,” said Joseph Lovecchio, music director and conductor. Her remarkable stage presence and technical skill is so memorable, it is still a favorite of our longtime subscribers.”
