The historic Carversville Inn in Solebury Township has been sold, its longtime owners have announced on social media.
Will and Denie Mathias said they had signed an agreement of sale with the new owners, who will introduce themselves sometime soon. “Suffice to say,” read the post, “they have lived in the area for some time and know the character and charm of the area.
“We are truly happy with the new owners and think they will be wonderful stewards of the Carversville Inn going forward.”
Located just outside of New Hope on Fleecy Dale Road, the much-loved inn has been a part of Bucks County history for more than 100 years. The Mathiases have owned and operated the restaurant for 31 years.
“We are forever grateful to the people we have met, our neighbors, our wonderful guests,” said the couple.
Many customers expressed regret online about the change in ownership, but wished the Mathiases well. “You’ll be sorely missed … but best wishes,” said one commenter.
