Col. Rick Kiernan, U.S. Army (retired), was recently presented with a Pennsylvania House of Representatives resolution in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War. Kiernan, the certificate of recognition noted, was honored “for his lifelong contributions to his country; as a member of the United States Army, having served and led soldiers during the Vietnam War; as a communicator, utilizing his skills to assist in the growth of democracies across the globe; and as a natural leader, empowering countless men and women through advising and mentorship.” Presenting the certificate to the Warwick resident is state Rep. Kristin Marcell of the 178th District. March 29 was National Vietnam War Veterans Day. On this day in 1973, the last U.S. troops departed Vietnam.
