Upper Bucks County Technical School fetes Jacob Gilbert as Student of the Month

Upper Bucks County Technical School’s May Student of the Month is Jacob Gilbert.

Gilbert is a senior in the welding technology and fabrication program and a senior at Pennridge High School. He is a first honors student and received his program’s most dedicated and outstanding level I awards.

This year, Gilbert earned a gold medal in the solo welding competition at the SkillsUSA District 11 competition. He advanced to the state competition in April, where he earned a bronze medal.

Gilbert is a Cooperative Education student employed at Hartman Systems and Controls in Perkasie since January. He is responsible for the welding and fabrication of bulk bag filling and discharge stands, weigh hoppers, conveyor systems, and various other bulk material handling projects.

Outside of school, Gilbert is the goalie on his ice hockey team, which won states last year. His team also had a second-place finish in this year’s Flyers Cup.
