Two local parishes host 10th joint rummage sale

Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Our Lady of Guadalupe volunteers partnered 10 years ago to raise funds for charitable church projects.

They decided on a Rummage and Treasure Sale, which started out small.

With the help of parishioners and their donations, it has grown over the years and has become an event that the community looks forward to year after year.

The 10th annual Rummage and Treasure Sale will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School on East Ashland Street in Doylestown, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8.

Aug. 8 is bag sale day, when shoppers can fill a bag with clothing for $5. All other items will be sold at half price.

Offered will be items for back-to-school, home goods, toys, books, jewelry, clothing for the entire family and much more.

Organizers are Kathy Cox, chairman, and co-chairs Sandra dePorry, Denise Wilcox and Mary Lacquaniti.
