Trinity Church opens Friends of Music concert season

Trinity Church’s Friends of Music kicks off its 2021-2022 concert season presenting Timothy Harrell, organist, in recital at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 6587 Upper York Road, Solebury.
The recital will feature organ works by Johann Sebastian Bach.
The organ at Trinity Church was built by Martin Pasi & Associates, Roy, Washington, and installed in 2006. It is a mechanical action instrument of 29 stops, 33 ranks.

The recital program includes the “Toccata and Fugue in D minor” (Dorian), “Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor,” two chorale preludes – Nun danket alle Gott (“Now thank we all our God”) the five part version of An Wasserflüssen Babylon (“By the waters of Babylon we sat down and wept”) and “Trio Sonata No. 1 in E flat.” Christopher Whitney will provide commentary on each selection.
Harrell is in his 24th year as organist/choirmaster at Trinity Church. He is also the accompanist for Bucks County Choral Society and the music director of the male a capella group Cordus Mundi.
Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for ages 18 and under. Admission is available at the door. Masks are required by all attendees.
