LYRA, an a cappella group of four professional singers from St. Petersburg, Russia, presents a concert of Russian choral music at Trinity Buckingham Church, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25.
The first half of the concert will feature Russian Orthodox sacred music, including ancient songs of famous masters as well as lesser-known Russian composers of the 18th through 20th centuries. The second half of the concert will feature Russian folk songs of various genres — comic, lyric, dancing, and beloved love songs.
“We are delighted to host this talented and renowned group of St. Petersburg singers,” said Regina Gordon, music minister of Trinity Buckingham. “What a magnificent opportunity they offer us to experience the extraordinary musical heritage of Russia right here in Bucks County.”
Each Lyra singer is connected with professional choirs and opera houses of St. Petersburg. The program will be narrated by the singers. A reception will follow the performance and the group will offer their CD’s for purchase.
Tickets are available at the door and at
