Trick or Treat

Posted

This is the decoration on the Halloween Trick or Treat bags provided in October 1969 by the Daily Intelligencer. The newspaper advertised that “over 6,000 bags will be distributed free to youngsters accompanied by a parent who visit the police stations in 10 municipalities in the Central and Upper Central Bucks area.
The exterior of the ample size bags contains a white finish that reflects the headlights of oncoming cars. To insure the safety of tiny ghosts and goblins, a list of helpful safety pointers is printed on the reverse side.
Safety pointers included:
• Make sure the eyeholes of your mask are big enough to see through
• Look carefully before you cross any street

• Ask your mother before you try to eat any treats
• Don’t play with fire; use a flashlight
• Be careful when you walk on neighbors’ lawns and don’t forget to say thank you.
