“Touch the Future” art show features area high school students

Top works of art from Bucks and Montgomery County high school students are featured during the 35th annual “Touch the Future” art show continues through March 25 (closed March 17 and 18 for Spring Break).
Sponsored by the Mideastern Region of the Pennsylvania State Education Association (MER/PSEA) and the Council for the Advancement of Public Schools (CAPS), “Touch the Future” is a professionally-juried art exhibit created in honor of Christa McAuliffe.
The NASA teacher and astronaut who passed away in the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster, McAuliffe’s was known to have said, “I touch the future…I teach.”
The winners of the juried show were selected by Shawn Sabourin, admissions counselor at Temple University’s Tyler School of Art. The 2022 show awards up to 24 prizes totaling $4,050.

The show takes place at Montgomery County Community College Blue Bell Art Gallery, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell. Gallery Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Categories include: printmaking, digital photography, drawing - black & white, jewelry/metals, traditional silver print, color drawing, fiber crafts, digital imaging/computer graphics, 3-D functional, 2-D mixed media, painting-acrylic/oil, 3-D single medium sculpture, 2-D design (no digital), watercolor, 3-D mixed media sculpture and computer animation (new for 2022).
