The Bucks County Symphony Orchestra, under the leadership of Music Director Gary S. Fagin, will perform its annual Pops Concert, “The Best of Broadway,” starring Tony Award nominee Liz Callaway.
The concert will be held in Delaware Valley University’s Life Sciences Auditorium in Doylestown at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 19. Highlights of the evening include a 50/50 drawing and a chance to conduct the BCSO on stage.
Callaway, a Tony nominee and Emmy Award-winning actress, singer and recording artist, made her Broadway debut in Stephen Sondheim’s “Merrily We Roll Along.” She received a Tony nomination for “Baby,” and for five years won acclaim as Grizzabella in “Cats.” She starred in the original casts of “Miss Saigon,” “The Three Musketeers” and “The Look of Love.”
Off-Broadway, she received a Drama Desk nomination for “The Spitfire Grill,” and appeared in a number of other shows.
Callaway has established a major career as a concert, film and recording artist. She sang the Academy Award-nominated song, “Journey to the Past,” in the animated feature “Anastasia,” and is the singing voice of Princess Jasmine in Disney’s “Aladdin and the Prince of Thieves” and “The Return of Jafar.”

Callaway received an Emmy Award for hosting “Ready to Go,” a daily live children’s program on CBS in Boston.
BCSO will open the concert with dance numbers from Bizet’s “Carmen,” Saint-Saëns’ “Danse Bacchanale,” and the sounds of “A Salute to the Big Apple.”
Sponsors for this event are Malmark Bellcraftsmen and QNB Bank.
