With six concerned residents in attendance at their Sept. 15 public meeting, and following a presentation of a petition with dozens of signatures, Tinicum Township supervisors continued their discussion of supporting a request to the zoning hearing board (ZHB) to offer an in-person option, or combination in-person and virtual, for a public meeting scheduled for 6:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24.
At issue is the proposed use of a barn at 31 Creamery Road for a wedding and event venue, a proposal which in its present form requests 14 variances from the township zoning ordinance.

Participation is presently offered only by emailing the Zoning Hearing Board solicitor via meberle@grimlaw.com, by noon on the day of the hearing, to request an invitation to a remote meeting.
Supervisors and their solicitor noted they preferred to help work out an in-person option, with attorneys representing the ZHB and the residents, given help from the residents especially on organizing the speaking part of participation that would help limit the duration of the meeting.
Also at the Sept. 15 meeting, the township announced a shredding event, hosted by state Rep. Wendy Ullman and state Sen. Steve Santarsiero, at Groveland Elementary School, 1100 N. Eastern Road in Plumstead Township, 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 26. It was noted as a contactless event, with a maximum of three file boxes per car.
The Delaware Valley Volunteer Fire Company’s Annual Fall Car Show will be held on Sept. 27 at 75 Headquarters Road in Erwinna, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. All makes and models are welcome to the attendee-judged event. Further details are available at delawarevalleyfire.com.
