The ninth annual Art of Preservation fundraiser will launch its “Through the Artist’s Eyes” art exhibit and sale on a new online platform at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3.
The exhibit will be available online for viewing and purchases through the holiday season.
The new online platform was created to keep artists and patrons safe, to support local artists, and to raise funds for local food pantries, which are now more in need of support than ever.
“Through the Artist’s Eyes” will continue to highlight the beauty and vitality of Bucks County, casting a light on a region that has been so famously painted and photographed over the centuries, and continues to inspire today.
The online exhibit will feature more than 100 pieces of artwork, from 25-plus local artists, who will share what they love about Bucks County. Proceeds from online sales (a 25% commission fee on all work sold plus a $25 access fee to the online platform and suggested donations) will benefit three local food pantries.
This year’s “Through the Artists Eyes” will feature a diverse spectrum of local artists and artisans, including: Margaret Wiseheart Anderson, Alana Balogh, Harry Boardman, William Christine, Adriano Farinella, Ponder Goembel, Donna Haney, Janet Hild, Deb Hoeffner, Joanne Isaac, Andy Koch, Linda Koontz, David Lee, Jim Lukens, Paul McGinn, Joanne Mazzeo, Anita Nolin, Jane Ramsey, Stephen Russell, Natalie Searl, Val Sivilli, Kathleen Sweeney, Nancy Talley, Marcia Theodoredis, Barbara Tracy, Karen Untermyer/Visions, Bill Woodruff, Michele Woodruff and Tom Zimmerman.
In addition to the online art exhibit and sale, there will be an opportunity for the community to mingle with the artists (as has been done for the past eight years at Historic Kirkland Farm), in three monthly interactive online zoom parties, complete with a special AOP cocktail/mocktail.
Scheduled for the first Saturday in October, November and December at 6 p.m., these monthly events will give the community the opportunity to gather with the artists, learn about their creative process and the inspiration behind their work.
Suggested donations of $25 to $1,000 directly support local food pantries. All donations, large and small, provide access to the online exhibit and sale, and the online community gathering “cocktail’ party.
Founded in 2011, Art of Preservation’s mission is to support local nonprofit organizations, and community programs and projects that promote the preservation of vibrant landscapes, historical sites, and the local arts and culture that thrive in Upper Bucks County, and the Lehigh Valley.
