Children’s Business Fair slated in Newtown

Posted

THRiVE hosts the fourth annual Children’s Business Fair at the NAC Sports Training Center in Newtown 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 22.

Over 40 kid-run businesses have been self-organized by children from across the region specifically for this event. Children will be selling products they’ve made for this special day, such as pet treats, picture frames, snacks and interesting inventions.

Everyone is welcome. Admission is free and there was no charge to the entrepreneurs. The goal of the event is to give as many kids as possible an introduction to entrepreneurial thinking to put them on the road to financial freedom.

This fair was started 14 years ago by the Acton Academy in Austin, Texas. THRiVE, An Acton Academy is an affiliate of the worldwide Acton Academy Network, consisting of over 250 independently run schools started by parents.

THRiVE, an Acton Academy, is a learner-driven private school for grades one to six. It is accredited by the International Association of Learner-Driven Schools and functions like a tech-enhanced Montessori with entrepreneurial principles and daily opportunities for leadership and public speaking.
