Three members of the Hunterdon County Rug Artisans Guild have been accepted for inclusion in the 2019 “Celebration of Hand-Hooked Rugs 29,” a premier juried collection of the year’s best hand-hooked rugs sponsored by Rug Hooking Magazine.
Included in Celebration 29 are the following works from HCRAG members:
- A hand-hooked rug created by Lucy Walsh of Clinton, N.J., titled “Homeland” in the Rugs Based on Original Designs category. This is her second appearance in Celebration.
- Also, in the Rugs Based on Original Designs category, is “Wolf Close Up,” created by Judy Carter of Willow Street, Pa. She is a member of the Celebration Hall of Fame, and this is her 15th rug featured in Celebration.
- In the Rugs Based on Adaptations category, is “Frankie’s Big Night Out,” a hand-hooked rug created by Jane Anderson of Clinton, N.J. This is her third appearance in Celebration.
Acceptance of a rug in Celebration is an accomplishment sought after by many rug hookers. The Hunterdon Guild is proud of and inspired by its artists.
