Third generation continues building supply legacy in Ottsville

Posted

Jason Wehrung celebrated the New Year by becoming the owner of his family’s Ottsville business after a successful 2018 capped by being named 2018 Entrepreneur of the Year.

He was honored by LBM Journal, a leading industry publication for the lumber and construction materials industry in the $10 million to $50 million sales category.

Jason Wehrung purchased Wehrung’s Lumber & Home Center on Jan. 1, from his parents, Vernon and Jean Wehrung. The elder Wehrung established the Ottsville based home center and lumberyard in 1986.

Jason Wehrung has served as Wehrung’s Lumber president since 2011.

The family concrete and septic business was originally founded by Jason’s grandfather, Woodrow “Woody” Wehrung, in 1946. It’s currently known as M&W Precast, LLC.

Jason Wehrung continues the family’s entrepreneurial legacy by looking for ways to better serve his customer base and appeal to millennial consumers, contractors and entrepreneurs.

Under his leadership the company has grown to six locations and established important vendor relationships with EP Henry Hardscaping, MasterBrand Cabinets, Inc., and Weather Shield Windows and Doors.

“We’re the only company that can go from the septic tank to the kitchen sink; and construction and building materials – we do it all,” Jason Wehrung said.

A recent acquisition of Millwork LLC of Quakertown aims to grow Wehrung’s Lumber custom wood millwork business.

Wehrung’s Specialties provides high-end wood, composite and tile materials, featuring products by Armstrong, Bruce and Chelsea Plank Flooring.

Solid Products Marketing and Promotions is a response to Wehrung’s Lumber customer’s needs for customized promotional screen and embroidery apparel and other promotional items, to help grow their businesses.
