The Opera Project Concert of Remembrance honors two

Posted

The Opera Project presents its annual Concert of Remembrance at 3 p.m. May 21, at the Frenchtown Presbyterian Church, Fourth Street, Frenchtown, N.J.

The concert of arias, duets and art songs will feature the music of Puccini, Ponchielli, Scarlatti, Lahar and Verdi. It will be performed in memory of Deborah Maher, one of the founders of The Opera Project, on the occasion of her birthday.

This year, The Opera Project also is dedicating its concert to the memory of Jim McCue. Once the mayor of Sergeantsville, N.J., and the owner-operator of Sergeantsville Grain and Feed, he was a much beloved part of the community.

McCue was larger than life in so many ways; a man known for his integrity, strength and intelligence, with a quick wit and a big heart. Jim and Stephanie McCue have been patrons of The Opera Project for many years, quietly supporting its efforts to keep classical music alive and prospering in the community.

The Opera Project appears as part of the ongoing concert series of the Frenchtown Presbyterian Church.
