For the past 31 years The Council of Southeast Pennsylvania and PRO-ACT have been commemorating those who have lost their lives to alcohol or drugs or to celebrate a life gained in recovery; to offer hope to those still struggling; or to acknowledge those who have made a positive impact. Each ornament placed on the evergreen tree is a representation of the hope of recovery from substance use disorder.
This year’s Tree of Hope dedication ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1. Program participants and musical guest Cordus Mundi will be onsite live at the Bucks County Justice Center, Fourth Floor, in Doylestown.
Trees will be decorated there, as well as at the organization’s Recovery Community Centers in Bristol and Norristown, and its RISE offices in Quakertown. The ceremony will be livestreamed on The Council’s Facebook page and Youtube Channel.
Personalized ornaments bearing the names of individuals being honored may be ordered at councilsepa.org or 215-345-6644 x3105. Proceeds from this year’s Tree of Hope will provide support for those seeking recovery from substance use disorder and their families.
Speakers at the Tree of Hope will highlight and honor individuals and institutions supporting recovery, celebrate those who are living in recovery, commemorate those whose lives have been lost to addiction and appreciate those ‘Rays of Hope’ who help others in their recovery.
