Posted

The Andalusia Historic House, Gardens and Arboretum will be open additional days during the Philadelphia Flower Show to allow for visitors to tour the property overlooking the Delaware River.

In addition to its tours Monday through Wednesday, guests can tour Andalusia at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on June 16 and 17. Guests can embark on a self-guided garden tour, aided by a map of the grounds.

The Andalusia Historic House was the Biddle family’s early 19th-century Greek Revival home and is surrounded by 50 acres of native woodlands and formal gardens. It is a National Historic Landmark.

Through Nov. 2, public tours of the gardens are offered Monday through Wednesday, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., excluding holidays. Guided tours of the “Big House” with garden access also are available.

Upcoming Open Saturdays include Sept. 17, Oct. 29, and Nov. 5. Open Saturday tours are offered at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Visitors must purchase tickets for public tours and Open Saturdays in advance from the Andalusia website. All tickets are free for children 12 and under.

On Sept. 17, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., guests will receive a glass of champagne and refreshments on the grand porch of the “Big House.” Champagne Garden Tour tickets do not include access to the “Big House.”
