Tewksbury Historical Society hosts 29th juried art show and sale

Posted

The 29th Tewksbury Juried Art Show and Sale benefiting the Tewksbury Historical Society, chaired by Andy Calamaras, will take place Saturday, Oct. 9 through Saturday, Oct. 16, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Christian Education Center, Oldwick, N.J.
The exhibition includes juried, small works and portfolio areas submitted by artists from across the tristate areas. Media includes oils, acrylics, paper (pastels, watercolors, mixed media collages), hand pulled prints (etching, silk screen, lithographs) and photography (analog and digital). Subjects include animals, abstracts, landscapes, florals and still-lifes.
An Opening Reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8. Karen Ross and her committee have planned a fun-filled evening when all awards will be announced. Advance tickets at $25 can be purchased at tewksburyhistory.net; tickets at the door are $30.
Awards will be given for “Best in Show,” “Best of Tewksbury,” “Marion Katnack Award - Tewksbury Landscape,” plus 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Honorable Mentions in each category.

In addition to the Juried Art Works, buyers may also purchase small works and portfolio items. All of the art works are submitted by the artists represented in the show. This is an opportunity to own the work of an artist whose work is “up and coming” at a reasonable price, while supporting THS. The society earns a small percentage of all items sold during the week.
Judge of Selection is Oscar Peterson, a multi-award-winning artist, and Judge of Awards is Dannielle Mick, an instructor at her Lakeside Art Studio in Parsippany, N.J.
General Admission tickets are $5. COVID restrictions in place at the time will be observed during the reception and the show. For information about the show or the reception visit tewksburyhistory.net.
