Posted

The Mercer Museum’s major annual fundraiser, Cocktails at the Castle, returns to Doylestown in one of the most unique historic landmarks in America from 7 to 10:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11.

The legendary evening in this one-of-a-kind castle built by Henry Mercer in 1916 is known for its “extraordinary focus on culinary delights and features crafted cocktails and scrumptious offerings” from some of the area’s most well-known restaurants, caterers and bakeries, all in support of the Mercer Museum’s year-round exhibitions, youth education programs and community initiatives.

“Cocktails at the Castle is such a unique way to taste the finest in locally-prepared cuisine and sample cocktails hand-crafted by some of the most cutting-edge bartenders around,” said Mercer Museum President & Executive Director Kyle McKoy. “There are so many delicious reasons to support the Mercer Museum and help us with our community, education and exhibit initiatives.”

Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy appetizers, soups, salads and entrees from award-winning establishments including Chambers 19 Bistro & Bar, Corporate Source Catering & SophistiCatered Events, Empanada Mama & Nourish by Mama, Jeffrey A. Miller Catering, Joseph Ambler Inn, Luberto’s Bakery & Deli, Penn Taproom, PA Soup and Seafood House, Piccolo Trattoria, Quinoa Peruvian & Mexican Restaurant, Simply Fresh by McCaffrey’s, Vela and Wegmans Food Markets – Warrington.

The newest craft cocktail recipes will be unveiled throughout the evening thanks to the event Cocktail Partners at Brown-Forman, Barr Hill, Sagamore Spirit, Don Q, Kinsey Whiskey, St. George Spirits, Infinium Spirits and Fratelli Branca, with assistance from the Breakthru Beverage Group Pennsylvania and Hops/Scotch.

Guests can also sip wines from local Bucks County vineyards, including Sand Castle Winery and Wycombe Vineyards.

Guests also should make sure to save room for dessert and dancing in the Mercer Museum’s Great Hall, with culinary confections served by Ann’s Cake Pan, Clusters Handcrafted Popcorn, Edible Arrangements of Doylestown, Laurie’s Chocolates, Luv Superfoods, Nina’s Waffles & Ice Cream, Pierre’s Chocolates, Sweet Victory Gluten & Dairy Free Treats, Sweetah’s Gluten Free Bake Shop and The Zen Den.

Bidding for the event’s fundraising online auction is live now through Oct. 11, with experiences and packages, like a weeklong beachfront vacation on Sanibel Island, a golf outing at Lookaway Golf Club, a Curator-led White Glove Tour of the Mercer Museum’s collections or a 2020 Penn State Football Tickets & Tailgate Experience. Supporters can bid online before or during the gala, and tickets to the event are not required to bid.

Cocktails at the Castle is black-tie optional and kicks off with a VIP reception from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Doors open for all guests at 7 p.m. Tickets are $250 VIP, $175 Gala Admission, $150 Members and $95 Mercer’s NextGen (21-30 years old).
