Take part in a spring foraging workshop

Discover the new growth of spring with Marissa from The Art of Ecology during a spring foraging workshop.

Learn to identify wild edibles in the newly green landscape on May 20, at Peace Valley Nature Center, 170 N. Chapman Road, Doylestown, and on May 26, at Bucks County Audubon Society, 2877 Creamery Road, Solebury Township (New Hope). Both are 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Then head back to the center to try some seasonal wild edibles and create tea blends. Participants can try dandelions in a few styles, using the root for coffee, the flower for fritters, and the leaves as a pesto.

Foragers can also try garlic mustard pesto on crackers, Violet Spring Tonic (alcoholic), and wildflower cupcakes made with a wide range of late spring flowers.

The first portion of the event will take place outside, learning about foraging etiquette, sustainability, and plant ID. Dress according to the weather.

Admission is $40, per person with a portion of the proceeds is donated back to the nature centers.
