Swimming against the current

As the shad make their way up the Delaware from the ocean, a favorite spot for fishing is under the New Hope-Lambertville free bridge. Local fishermen have arrived to take advantage of the fish migration north for spawning. Lambertville, N.J.’s annual Shad Festival, founded to celebrate return of the shad to a clean river, is this weekend, April 27 and 28. Thousands of people will flock to the river town for the festival.
