Supervisor’s service not “pet projects”

Posted

Sadly, in these divisive times, community service in West Rockhill Township is now viewed as “pet projects.”
Jim Miller, incumbent West Rockhill Township supervisor, is being attacked for supporting our own community. Take a look at these projects and you decide if they fall into the “pet project” bucket.
- Revitalized a leaking, deteriorating community pool and returned The Holiday House Pool and Recreation center to a summer oasis for families to enjoy and socialize.
- Brought cutting-edge energy technology to reduce township energy costs by $13K annually and $370K over the life of the system (protected against inflation).

- Utilizing grant money, Jim initiated the effort and oversaw the installation of an EV charging station at James Memorial Park. Now park visitors can charge their vehicles while walking, running, playing sports, picnicking or playing in the tot lot.
- Provided fundamental repairs to the township-owned James House. Subsequently a lease agreement was forged with the Historical Society to assume maintenance and associated costs, and remove the financial burden from taxpayers.
Pet projects? Community service? My vote goes to Jim Miller on Nov 2.
Carol Strobel, West Rockhill Township
