Summer Quest kicks off at Bucks County Free Library

Posted
Bucks County Free Library’s (BCFL) Summer Quest summer learning program begins June 22 with kick-off events from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its branches in Bensalem, Doylestown, Langhorne, Levittown, Perkasie, Quakertown and Yardley-Makefield.

Summer Quest features a variety of free, fun activities to help children stay active, expand knowledge and engage with the community when school is out.

During Summer Quest families will find: entertainers and animals touring the branches, limited-edition Badge Squad: Summer Quest badges, a Design Your Own Badge contest, reading challenges, hands-on STEM activities, sensory experiences, physical challenges, arts and crafts, and storytimes.

BCFL challenges readers to sign up and log their summer reading minutes. Readers can pick up reading logs during kick-off events, or by visiting their branch or downloading a reading log from the BCFL website.

New this year, families will have the opportunity to win VIP tickets to a special Summer Quest performance and sit up close to an acrobat or be front row at a laser light show.

In addition, Bucks County readers, with the help of Summer Quest participants, will choose an animal to donate through Heifer International.

Teens and adults can now earn limited edition Badge Squad: Summer Quest badges, along with the children.

New performers Prismatic Magic Laser Programs, Center for Aquatic Sciences and Strongman Eric Moss will join returning The Franklin Institute, Lehigh Valley Zoo, Magician Ran’D Shine, and more.
